From the Mind of Verge
Young Verge one of Indiana’s finest and a member of generation X, has made a promise to his fans and the Hip-Hop community to be unique and creative with his craft while maintaining his persona as an artist for the new generation of music. The listeners and critics of today convey the lack of diversity and creativity in Hip-Hop displayed by new artist. We welcome an artist whose main objective is to define himself by not assimilating, But by carving his niche through his story and influences to bring diversity into music. Young Verge has been proactive in his own growth as an artist by constantly applying pressure to himself to become a better artist by deriving structure and refining rhythm cadences in his music. Dialect and delivery are the tools essential in the construction of his style. His mother kept music playing around the house exposing Young Verge at an early age. He was brought up on artists like the Isley’s, Luther and Michael Jackson who were some of her favorites. Drawn to Hip-Hop’s culture and life commentary, he fell in love the first time he heard it’s urban sonnet on the radio. He practiced by reciting the lyrics to records from artist like UGK, Master P and Nas until he decided to pick up the pen at age of 9 and write his own story.

Thanks to Hip-Hop, Verge has set his game plan into motion. Teaming up with Fresh Entertainment on the release of his first single ‘Swagga Shot’, which was the OurStage Winner for the Russ Par Bus Tour in Indiana in 2009. Artist sometimes overlook the influence they can have on a community. To keep himself grounded, Verge was instrumental in helping start the annual charity event ‘Holiday Hoops #MGMCharityGame’ in 2011. The event promotes unity in the community by collecting donations and distributing them to select charities to help make the holidays a little more festive for those in need. This additional exposure has made Verge a household name in Indiana. He is now working on building his fan base in other key markets.

Verge has vowed to break the stereotype of young artists by applying hot lyrics over explosive beats, as well as remaining true to his core fans and telling his story. As a student at Ball State University, he continues to study the art so he can fashion his style and sound daily. With the goal to be the voice of his generation where others only want a voice in it, don’t sleep on the Vizzol Mane. His Charisma, charm, personality, determination and most of all swag are what set him apart from the rest! Be on the lookout for Indy’s next staple in the music industry!
